About him
The reason for this ‘ad’ is that my travelling companion has now decided to ‘stay at home’. I am quite happy being solo, but ideally would prefer to share the wonderful experience of travel.
I’m a solvent (enough!), n/s, cycling/walking/push up fit young bloke of 79 who travels for up to 6 months a year. Nothing has fallen off yet due to rugby in my youth, but ‘with benefits’ are but a very pleasant memory!
My glass is always more than half full - life is for laughter and living and there’s not much of it left - so am determined to continue enjoying it!
I really enjoy road trips - recently 5K miles in South Africa. I’ve driven to Calabria and from Seattle to Phoenix in the last couple of years. Last year travelled to Japan and Rajastan and took a ‘short’ road trip around Ireland. City breaks are also most enjoyable.
My travelling style is in the Premium Economy cabin on long haul flights (in the boot for short haul!) and depending upon circumstances, from budget to 5 star accommodation.
Somewhat still a petrolhead and have an involvement with classic racing cars. However, finally grew out of boy racer personal cars a few years ago - I now drive a Mini!
I’m a Tina & Rod fan and much of the early R&B Stones plus Dylan, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, Queen etc.
I love animals, especially dogs, but my lifestyle would be unfair on a dog, so I get my fix from my adult children’s doggies.
I’m averse to: Meal ticket seekers, tattoos/piercings, retail therapy, bling/leopard prints, classical music concerts/theatre/dancing and last of all co-habiting! Somewhat of a daunting list, but best to be honest from the get go.

A lady who’s fit, active, looks after herself and above all else is fun to be with and young at heart. The ability/willingness to share costs is a must, as clearly is the desire to travel.
